Design and Planning
The deck installation process starts with a design meeting to discuss your needs, style, and budget. Our expert landscape designers will complete a walk-through of your property to determine the best place for the deck and assess how much site work will be needed. If you have an existing deck or patio on the property that we will be replacing, we will determine how to get rid of the existing structure and prepare the land for the new deck. Our landscape designers will create a detailed design for your deck that will seamlessly integrate with your existing landscaping, hardscaping, and exterior style. Finally, we will work together to revise and adjust the deck design as needed until you are 100% satisfied. Once the design and planning phase concludes, we move into the scheduling stage.
Scheduling
Once you have approved the final deck design, our team will obtain the necessary materials and schedule a date for your deck installation. Some homeowners are surprised to learn that there is typically a multi-week period of lead time required for an installation. Keep in mind that a landscape contractor who is always free is always free for a reason!
Installation
On the scheduled installation day, our deck installation crew will show up on time with all of the necessary decking materials. First, our deck installation crew will complete any necessary site work to prepare your backyard for the deck installation. If there is debris or plant material that needs to be removed from the area, we will dispose of it properly or discuss replanting options with you. If you have an existing deck on your property, we will quickly and safely dismantle it and dispose of it. When the installation site is properly prepared, we will lay the base for your deck and begin the installation process. If your deck installation is a multi-day project, our workers will always find an appropriate stopping point and thoroughly clean the area before leaving.
Finishing
On the final day, our workers will ensure that the final deck matches the original specifications and your expectations, that the area is cleaned up, and that your yard is put back together properly. We always leave our clients with a ready-to-use finished product so you can start enjoying your deck later that evening if you would like to! If necessary, we will give you maintenance instructions to take proper care of your decking material.
